PRESENT FEELINGS

I look all around and what do I see,
Criminals eyes all staring at me;
I can say this because I believe I'm innocent,
yet when I look in the mirror I see nothing different;
I have mixed emotions and displaced sorrow,
Still with hope knowing there's always tomorrow;
I feel like a car wth a broken transmission,
With plenty of energy not able to leave my position;
I express these feelings because I know they won't stay,
Although I must be realistic and keep these thoughts at bay;
In eleven more days I'll alk out thse gates,

I'll prove to the world my incarceration was a mistake.
