Wow! Is it that time again? it seems as if the 2008 elections were a few days ago. Now here it is, 2012, full circle once again. And this election may be even more significant than that of 2008. The magnitude of the issues and policies at play in this election cycle is of grave importance to all Americans. Whether you as a voter give President Obama the much-needed extra four years to see his policies take shape and continue to help the American people out of such a dismal, emotional, and nefarious situation.
As I watch the Republican debates or listen to their stomp speeches or hear the pundits weigh in on all of this, it is truly amazing to me that any Republican candidate could even have a chance in 2012. And I am not just speaking on the Presidential Race, but city, state, or on a larger scale. Listen to what they (the Republicans) are saying, what they wish to do, and where they want to take the country.
Republicans will skip the prosperous years of President Clinton and draw the country right back into chaos of 2000-2008, where the rich got richer and the middle-class of this country evaporated almost out of existence. Do I agree with all of President Obama's policies? Absolutely not! I believe that there are numerous things that could have been done differently, but then we all are on the outside looking in. However, I do believe that this president has love, compassion, and understanding for this country that that has been missing from the executive branch for too long.
Everything that President Obama has done these past three plus years has been for the benefit of all Americans, especially those hardest hit by the recession. Whether you agree with his policies or not, you have to at least give him credit for that.
President Obama has been steadfast in his pursuit of equality for all Americans. To maintain the middle class. To make sure that everyone that wants to work, willing to work, and able to work can. I don't believe that most Americans are looking for handouts nor do I believe that all Americans aspire to be rich. I do, however, believe that all Americans aspire to the pursuit of happiness. Americans aspire to wealthy, wealthy in health, in spirit, in love, in knowing that their children will not go hungry, that their family has a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs. If their children aspires to get a higher education, they will be able to afford it. If their child is sick, they won't go bankrupt with medical bills.
Mortgage firms are rolling the dice with American family homes. Big banks won't lend money out, insurance companies want the Affordable Care Act overturned, and Wall Street wants to go back to the same ol' practices that almost destroyed the American economy before President Obama was elected. The same ol', same ol' that got us in this mess, and these Republicans aspire to return this country to that. Does Mitt Romney have a real, successful chance at the White House? Why? How!? Listen to his rhetoric! How he speaks about the poor, the middle-class—those less fortunate than himself. Really, America, wake up!
Wisconsin is going through the pain of those that boycotted the midterm elections here, thinking that they were hurting the Democrats by not voting, holding a referendum against President Obama because they can't feel the effects of economic growth yet. So they turned their backs on the midterm elections. Now when Scott Walker gets in and does all this draconian policies, they want to cry foul. How can you now, when you didn't exercise your God-given rights to vote? Scott Walker never lied to anyone in this state. You knew this man was an idiot, that he practices partisan politics and believe in right-wing agendas.
Now there is a recall in effect here in the state of Wisconsin, and there shouldn't be. Not because I agree with anything that Scott Walker, but he was dully elected. Either you didn't vote or you voted for him, thinking a vote for him is a vote against the Democrats. Whatever the case, you weep what you sow. I am not trying to be mean or seem uncaring. On the contrary, I want you to understand that every vote counts. Either you vote or you get stuck with undesirables, like Scott Walker or Mitt Romney.
There is a clear choice in 2012! You can give the Republicans control of the Senate and White House. Yes, that is a choice. You can allow this country to return to big banks, insurance companies doing as they please, the mortgage firms hitting you with all these outrageous high-interest rates, high mortgages, and Wall Street playing Russian roulette with your livelihoods. If you don't care that they wills sell this country to the highest bidders, then vote Republican.
However, if you have real morales, values, a sense of what American and family is really about, then there is a choice. If you like knowing that consumers have a watchdog agency out there looking out for them that insurance companies can no longer deny for having existing illnesses, that credit card companies can no longer hide hidden fees on you, nor airline companies. If you like that mortgage companies are being held accountable, that you child can get a quality education, that all combat troops are out of Iraq. And according to the Secretary of Defense, combat troops in Afganistan will begin coming home sooner than expected. Then give President Obama and the Democrats the time that they need.
Vote! Your vote matters. Without your vote, then the Republicans may take control of the White House as well as the Senate. If that happens, there will be no recall elections. Romney will have four years to destroy everything that has been done these past three years.
President Obama never lied to you, to us. It has been taking decades to get this country into this situation, and you expect the president to come in and fit it all in four years? Really!? Yet you gave President Bush eight years after he stole the first election; you put him in a position to steal the second one too. Give this president the chance he deserves. I would rather have a president that fights for the American people than a president that sees a company as a person! So there is a clear choice in 2012, and your vote counts.
President Obama is human. People expected him to be the coming of the Messiah and, when he didn't live up to this outrageous expectation, you lost favor with him. President Obama is a mere man with great responsibilities. He is doing his best. But like he said, he needs your help, your trust, and your loyalty. Believe in him. He believes in all of you.
So I hope that this November, you rally all your friends, family, coworkers, and associates, and get out there and rock the vote. These are serious times that this country and world are facing, and it will take a president that has love and compassion for his people. Maybe somewhere in the future that may be Mitt Romney, just not now.
Excuse my many mistakes. I type fast and I am so focused on what I am saying that I didn't catch my mistakes until it was too late. But I hope my meaning is clear enough.
