A reply to 3nk7,

Hello Jessica,

It was nice to receive your response and query on my blog. I will share anything and everything you ask for in snail mail but for what I post on-line I will be more reserved. I am more than willing to fill you in on prison life and the things one experiences in the California system. The biggest thing that affects people in here psychologically, apart from the prescription drugs, is the isolation from outside cultural development. This divide increases with the length of sentence and varies among individuals. We are allowed to have T.V.'s and a lot of us spend probably too much time in front of them but all the cultural changes that we see on the broadcasts remains foreign to us until we are released back into society.

I understand and agree with your stance on romanticism, for to engage in anything like that from inside the walls fits the very definition of folly. There is nothing any man in the prison setting can do to fulfill the responsibilities and obligations of a romantic relationship, the only thing that results is fantasy and heartbreak.

I wish you the best in your academic endeavors, along with your journalistic pursuit. I look forward to reading your work in the future if I ever have access to it. I look forward to your reply, my snailmail address is on my profile page so whichever way you respond, I eagerly await it.
