Self-Exploration Through Writing—extracurricular assignment:
Who Am I?
Okay, am I really just a prisoner now doing two life terms? Am I really just a special needs freak at this P.C. freak facility? Am I really the celibate thespian Amanduh, that titillating alter-ego who, much the same as the corporal Klinger character on the old M.A.S.H. show, entertains the troops? Am I really the crazy Viking queen who terrifies the kids who come through here on their sacred strait tour? Am I really the bearded biker used to pushing my weight around? Am I the intellectual mind-vamp who plays with bestial souls? Am I the sucker who pampers selfish guests passing through or the goading proctor who is used to breach-birthing retards prematurely? Am I really just a wolf in sheep's clothing?
What happened to being a father, a husband, a lover, a brother—or a brother's keeper? I used to be an American seditionist, a quixotic crusader, an iconoclast adventurist, and an errant knight on wayward journeys of discovery. Am I the hurt little boy whose whole life is just a compensation for some traumatizing experiences of childhood? Am I ever who I appear to be?
Who am I, is the writing assignment which I've answered eons ago when this quest of life began. I am not inherently any of these glamorous props of living listed above. And yet I have experienced being all of them for a brief time.
I suppose that I can proffer a simple answer to the three word query "Who am I" whit three words that sum it all up: "I am eternal." You see, we are intrinsically spiritual beings, all having this human experience in all of its facets. Behind all the props of being, we are eternal.
