Pelican Bay Report /1346/
PBSP Pg 1, Chapter 2
Enclosed is 5 crime scene photos of me and 1pg cell door opening incident. I will explain how this Mexican gang member attacked me, then I'll talk a bit about the photos. OK, after the whites rushed the Northern Mexicans on the yard that morning and staff cleaned up the mess, they recalled the yard and put everyone on lockdown. Around 11.15am, staff counted all of us then at I would say 12 noon or 1, count cleared and the guard who got to work who just missed watching the morning riot, made an announcement that the section was on lockdown but he would be running a modified program, controlled showers, 1 cell at a time. This asshole guard pushed a button and my cell door opened. I jumped up and asked why was my door opened. He said, do you want a shower, Tinsley? I said yes. My cellmate didn't want one, so I walked to the upper shower and got in but didn't close and lock the shower door. The guard has a stand up panel that he uses to open cell doors/shower doors as well. The guard will know if I locked myself in the shower, they have a light on the panel that tells him. So the asshole knew that I didn't lock the shower door. I would say about 10 min into my shower the guard opened up a Northern Mexican cell on the bottom tier. 2 Mexicans came out to shower and 1 of them ran up the stairs with a knife in his hand. See photo 0034. I'll call him Buster (slang 4 a Northerner). The buster opened up my shower door, came inside. When I heard the shower door open I knew right then that would be "whacked".
It was a mistake on my part for not locking the shower door, but it's a pain in the ass to get staff to open your door for a shower. They are lazy as hell. If I was to lock myself in the shower, when I was done, who knows how long it would take to get the guard to open the shower door. So I didn't lock it and I paid the price. Staff knows to make inmates lock the shower door when it's controlled lockdown shower program, 1 cell at a time. When you're locked down, they let you out for showers and once you're in, they yell on the PA to shut the door, lock it, then when it's locked they then turn on the water. Everything is controlled by staff in the tower with the control panel. All the buttons have red lights/cell numbers etc. So when I had the shower door opened, I had shampoo in my hair, I had my back turned from the door. "Bad idea". The buster took the piece and tried to kill me with it. When I turned around, the Mexican had punched me under my eye. I thought he had punched me, but actually he stabbed me under my left eye. He had boots on, I was naked in shower shoes. My feet were getting stomped on during the fight. The attack was fast. The shower was very small and all I could think to do was take him to the ground, which I did. Once we got to the floor of the shower, we were slipping due to the soap/shampoo, I noticed something slip out of his hand. I tried to reach the door and shut it. That way he was locked in with me. :P I couldn't hurt him while on the floor really, and it happened so fast I just thought it was a fist fight. I realized he had a piece whenever he got up first and got out of the shower. Now looking back, it was a knife in his hand and somehow he let it get out of his hand. So he got up 1st, got the piece and started running down the top tier. See photo 0036. I got up off the floor and chased his ass butt naked towards the stairs. He had thrown the piece to the bottom tier in the day room area. The tower guard seen that, so he said. The buster made his way down the stairs and laid down somewhere by his cellmate waiting for the staff to come get him. Imagine how mad I was at that guard? The buster was a soldier, he was doing "his job"! It's called putting in work - prison politics, my friends. The buster was doing what he was supposed to do. His people were attacked that morning yard so he was supposed to attack the 1st white inmate he could. If that buster would have not attacked me when he had his chance and his people - Northern Mexicans gang - would have found out, they would have stabbed him. That is prison politics. I wouldn't have been hurt like that if I would have come out of my cell that day with my own piece. Also I wouldn't have been stabbed at all that day but staff-guard made sure that I was. Staff knew damn well what was going to happen if a Northern Mex was put around a white that day. Staff set me up, got me stabbed, and that's a fact. This is what really happens in CA prisons. This shit happens every day, period, and the guards don't help matters, they provoke. They love to see us fight.
Anyways I never made it down the stairs to keep fighting with the buster. I was a victim that day. I was naked and bleeding. Not to mention the tower guard who set this all up was yelling at me on the PA to get down and he had a mini 14 gun-rifle pointed right at my head, just looking for a reason to shoot. So I had to get down. You should have seen all the guards rush into that section. I didn't count them, but more than 40 easily. As you can see in the photos, they had me all taped up and took me off to a holding cell in the medical area of the prison. After they gave me my stitches, they took me to Adseg, the hole. So not only did staff get me stabbed but they put me in the hole too. Now that is some cold dudes. So far I have showed you 5 photos, I'll post the other 5 this week some time. The last 5 will have my face very well, so you can see the damage that buster did to my face. It looks bad, real bad. As you can see I didn't have many tattoos in the photos, now every bit of my body in those photos not my face and hands have tattoos. My whole body is covered now. I look like a walking billboard. I will be waiting for any comments that anyone wants to share with me. I will get those other 5 photos out this week.
Talk to you soon
Respectfully
Donnie
