10-5-07 Golden Promises
By LeVar E. Jones C 2013

I promise to be there, every day that you wake,
I promise to keep a smile, upon that beautiful face.
I promise to love you, more than words can show,
I promise the love I give you, will continue to grow.
Promise that the love I give, will never stop,
Why? So someone can pick up the diamond I dropped?
So someone can cherish you, and all the qualities you bring?
And you forget all about me and the melodies my heart sing.
I can't promise you all the stars, or the moon above,
But I do promise not to hurt you, giving nothing but love
When I promise my woman something, I will always come through,
Promise to always be there, and dedicate my life to you
No need to worry, and there's no need to be afraid,
Promise to hold you close, and let you know it's gonna be OK.
Promise to comfort you, promise to make you smile,
Promise to go that extra step, walking that extra mile.
There will be no nonsense, there's no time for games,
That's not my lifestyle, promise not to emotionally wreck your brain.
Love is an action word, and you're the love of my life,
I promise to have your back, promise to make you my wife.
I open up my hand, and it's your heart I'm holding,
My words are not in vain, and my promises are golden.
