I'd argue that the Reagan presidency was the worst for North American modern history. Simply because we're still paying for their legacy to this day.
That includes many of your arguments about what sucks about the North American government and the media. Guess who popularized the image of mythmaking a Great Christian America? Who popularized the glamorization of politics in the media? The Reagans. Guess who played copycat to revive that image to an obscene degree? The Trumps. As long as the president and his family appear to be squeaky clean, attractive, and popular, they can get away with anything during their term.
Reaganomics is something we're still paying for. Its marketed ideal was to provide for North Americans, but really all it did was punish the working class. It was also under his presidency that unions were crushed, meaning even less power for the working man to speak out and against corporations. Under Trump, corporations suddenly became individuals in the eyes of the law. Which means even less accountability for inhumane work conditions, low pay, and so on.
And there were their tax cuts that were purported to help the middle class. All they did was benefit the rich. Before the Reagans, the rich were taxed 70-80% of their income. After? 20%. And that became even less with Trump's "tremendous" tax cut.
That's not even getting into how much the Reagans defunded anything positive for social change, criminal reformation, and civil rights. We all know by now how much the War on Drugs was a farce. Did that stop Reagan? We all know what little Trump's presidency did for those, we lived it.
I'm not the biggest fan of Biden or Obama either. I'm saying that there's been worse presidents and presidencies than them.
