How often do you hear it... when a woman is raped... when a woman is humiliated - disrespected - or when a woman is battered - abused or murdered... ("She should of known".)... "Bullsh*!"... (Nasir) says Bullsh*!... Should of known better than what?!? Known better than to be born "female - precious or a Queen" in a world where rape is (epidemic) on every continent?... Known better than to live in South Africa, where four in every 10 women will be the victims of rape?... Or in India, where a 23-year-old student was dragged off a public bus, raped, brutally tortured and left for dead?... Or in the (USA), where every 15 seconds a woman is beaten, where every day 3 to 4 women are killed by their partners, where one out of 4 college students will be raped or sexually assaulted while in college?...

Should a young girl "know better" than to live in the democratic West where she will be bombarded with images that tell her that her goal in life is to be "sexy" for men - even before she knows what intimate relationships are all about?... Should a high school student in Ohio "know better" than to go to a party where she's drugged and raped and then have the whole event posted on You Tube - like in the old days when the (KKK) would lynch a black man and brag about it in the newspapers?...

Or, if she's born in a part of the world controlled by reactionary religious fundamentalists, should she "know better" than to be a young woman driven out of Pakistan for playing sports? Or a girl in the (U.S.-occupied Afghanistan) who wants to learn to read but can't go to school becuz reactionary Islamist forces allied with the U.S. occupiers, or the Taliban, won't let her leave her house for fear of having acid thrown in her face?...

Should she (a woman) have to know better than to live in one of the states where a safe, legal abortion is practically unavailable, and women are coerced or forced to bear children against their will?...

What the fu#! kind of world is this where to be a woman is to be insulted, degraded, and physically threatened at every turn?... And then to be told that (all) this sh*! is her fault?... How could this be!... What has this world come to!?!... I mean I'm a (man) and trust me - prior to my rude awakening I too played the: "This is a man's world" card, I too used to degrade - objectify and treat women like servants or objects of my own gratification without the least concern for her or their feelings.

For the last 6-7 yrs, I've come to realize the true and essential role the female both young and old play in the world let alone my own life... I mean, I got a G-ma - mom - sisters - female cousins - aunties - nieces and a list of other females whom I would hate to see someone else disrespect - objectify - abuse or take advantage of so why would I do it to others' female family and friends!... Once I came to that simple conclusion or question sort to speak, I then started to pay more attention to the world wide epidemic of female oppression - objectifying - trafficking - abuse and inequality!... This sh*!'s gotta stop!...

I can't speak for every dude out there. I could only speak for (myself) and my words to all women is that I will do my best to care for you - cater to you - listen to you - protect you - love you - and cherish your essence!...

I realize that people's actions let alone words can be contagious so the buck starts with me and my actions which is why and how this thesis came to being!... I can't change the wrong I've done to women in the past but I will do my part to put and keep the female in high regards in my future... (all women) so this pledge is both "close and far reaching"...

I close by saying I apologize to all the women I've wittingly or unwittingly or knowingly and unknowingly hurt or harmed - I beg for your forgiveness but for those whom may cross my path even for less than a minute, you can rest assured that (I): "Nasir Wali Muhsin" will hold you to the highest regards even if you're in the lowest of conditions!... And although I don't get into holidays I do realize that women do look forward to:

Happy Mother's Days - Valentine's Days - Birthdays - Anniversaries and congratulations for (all) your achievements!!... So I wish you all of the above. :P

I am:
"Nasir Wali Muhsin" (and)
"I love and support the rise of women"
"I love and support National Women's Day!"

I like the comments you made regarding women and your admission of past treatment of women. I would just like to mention one thing. It is my opinion that the terminologies women/female are sometimes interchangeable but there should be some clarification. To put it short - female refers to the anatomy, while woman is more inline with the spiritual, psychological, and emotional aspects of her being. maturity of intellect, her character, understanding of self and that which sets her apart from men and other women/females who may or may not view themselves as a unique creation of GOD are also included in the arena that separates women in their entirety from those who allow themselves to be defined as and limited to females.
