Dear Supporter:

We need you to join us for the "Occupy Prisons" event to be held on National Stop Police Brutality Day at the Department of Correction headquarters in Milford, Massachusetts. There are similar events planned in several states across the nation for that same day and Massachusetts must show the needed unity which will be required to make public safety advancements.

The newly reactivated MaCURE will be presenting its "Mission" and "Platform" at this event as well as detailing specific plans for the rehabilitation of errants and enhancement of public safety. We invite you to present whatever topic, plans or concerns you and the people you are associated with feel should be made part of the discussion and public discourse. This event can only be a success with your support and a unified front.

Thus far we have arranged to have the event staging area at the home of MaCURE's secretary, Karen Schulman. The American Veterans in prison have obtained a national recording artist to perform at the event. We have also secured promises from James Ridgeway of Mother Jones Magazine and Bob Kerr of the Providence Journal to cover the event, and we are working at this time to secure more media coverage for the event.

National Stop Police Brutality Day is in September. We must move forward as fast as possible in order to get this event off the ground. The time has come for this long-overdue event as the unacceptable recidivism and crime rates diminish the quality of life here in the Commonwealth. Our children, elderly, and loved ones deserve better. This event will present solutions while forcing the issue before the eyes of the citizenry. Our voices of caring will be heard from the bully pulpit of the "Occupy Prisons" event!

To find out more and offer your support in organizing and attendance you can contact the MaCURE secretary, Karen Schulman, at her above address, or you can contact steering committee members at:
