[underlined] Rapid Response (A Stellar Investigation)
On April 15th, 2013, my heart sank as I followed the breaking news of the Boston Bombing. I was outraged at the senseless destruction & cowardly attack upon an innocent crowd gathering to celebrate life. I too mourn with my brethern over the loss & injuries sustained. I am equally grateful for the true American spirit demonstrated in the responses to this tragedy-- people helping one another instead of stepping over the next man to get out of harms way. And I am also impressed by the authorities rapid response & resolution of this crime, as they came together in a coordinated effort to identify & capture the suspects of this crime. I commend their professionalism.
My only question is, "Why can't law enforcement pursue all crimes (especially murder) with the same zeal, forensic tools & professionalism utilized here?" Over the course of my incarcerated years, I've witnessed multiple capital murder cases overturned due to prosecution/police misconduct; botched forensics; overzealous prosecution; or complete exoneration. The costs to taxpayers is staggering: prosecuting; housing; appeals; executions; payouts to the wrongfully convicted; & society's consciences. Everyone suffers from the long costly drawn out process which is often overturned because they got the wrong man! The victims family & friends suffer! The innocent man & his family suffers for their life together has been stolen by a system they trusted. Society also loses out on the potential gifts & contibutions this wronged citizen could've contributed if given the chance to mature to their full potential. We need more of that "Stellar Investigation."
