What A World 5/20/13

Is the world better off then it was 2,000
years ago? With nuclear weapons humanity has the power to
literally wipe our species off the map.
I see people with phones, gadgets that
are fancy and neat but the lot of these people can't
communicate with social nedia being such a influence
on everyone I ponder why we as a "race" don't show
the same empathy to one another. We are closer yet
becoming farther apart. What world are we living in
when you have half the world living in "slums"?
What world is this that we live in when the
super power nation is able to dominate the world?
What world is this that we let oppression remain?
Turn our backs to the defenseless, homeless, the
poor and the weak? What a world when billionairs
and companys control the things that sustain us
humans? Whoare we kidding here. If the food companys
decide not to sell no more food then what are we
left with?
I see the people of the world in pain.
A cry that all hear but few answer. People that once
struggled and faught for certain "rights" have now
become complicit and accomplices to the very same
system they once faught against. While life is
good for the few for the majority it's a living night-
mare. It pains me to say but I'd rather see the
destruction of out species than to see it continue
on the path ot's going. Of course I haven't given up hope
But it's such a dim light its barely visible. What a
world we live in and what a totally different world we
can live in if that light of hope shined as bright as
the sun.

5/20/13

I was watching Ruck Center, actually I caught
a portion of it and was moved byt it. It was talkin-
g about the murder of the young 15 year old who
was killed, you know, the one that was in Obamas 2nd
inaguration.
As Chicago is a hot-bed with "gang-bange-
er" alot of innocent bystanders get hit and killed sadly
I can't recall the girls name but with her death it
put national attention to her murderers and in a matter
of weeks they were caught. However they showed anoth
er young girl that was killed too but with no nati-
onal attention accompanying her, her killers havent
been apprehanded.
It truely is a sad state of affairs, these
senseless killings that is. And knowing that I too grew up in
a toxic enviornment it pains me even more. What grinded at
my heart also was the pain, anguish and devastation of the
mothers who lost their young girls way too soon. Yet we
continue to do the ame thing year after year. the
pain mothers go throught cannot be measured. I too saw the
tears a mother sheds die to gang violence and my
comforting only eases the pain a bit. he may take
pride in hurting another but who we are hurting the
most is all the mothers we fail to realize this simple truth
...and still continue with our cycle of death.
Maybe I write these words caues mothers
day passed. Countless mothers have lost their kids to
gang-violence. It is hard when a mother must bury
them. If we can feel their pain and know
first hand the true anguish they go through then
just maybe we will cease the senseless killings.
