My name is Thomas Bean, but most who know me call me "Preacher." This is a nickname given to me since I have been in prison because I spent my days passing out Christian tracts and spreading the Word of Jesus. I am still called that because I am now the clerk in the chapel, and I spend my days teaching and serving in whatever capacity God calls me to edify the ministry here.
This was not always the case in my life. If it were, I would not be here right now writing this profile page. I am a sinner and I am in prison because I belong here. I will go into more detail on this subject as time goes by, but in the meantime, please know that I now live only by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus to serve Him and help others who are drawn to Him by the Father.
I welcome you to my blog. I am so excited about this project because I want to bring to you a picture of how God works in the lives of prisoners in prison. I want to show that there are many of us who God uses and want to expel the perception of the negative "jail house religion."
I am not a professional writer, so you may find some grammatical or spelling errors at times. Please forgive them. Also, I will not always have access to a typewriter so some blog posts will be handwritten. I truly look forward to responding to any comments, suggestions, or questions you may have through an additional blog post, so please return often.
