Noemi,
Thank you for responding & hearing my voice. It's good to know that I'm not completely alone. Surviving the system one day after another takes a tremendous effort. I feel like I'm in that movie "Groundhog Day" (Bill Murray, 1993) where the day seems to repeat itself on an endless loop, and I'm getting nowhere.
More inspectors from the DOJ came through for a follow up to see if the DOC acted on the recommendations. It's surprising how quickly the DOC had acted on the DOJ recommendations. In just a matter of weeks, the DOC herded all of the documented mentally ill prisoner onto one pod, and installed 3 table/chair units which were fastened to the floor. The mentally ill prisoner is to be shackled to the unit for 2 hours or so to engaged with a mental health professional in some kind of recreation.
When these people do something, no matter how well intended, they seem to always get it twisted. This program wants a mentally ill prisoner to come out of his cell just so he could be shackled to a table for over 2 hours. Get real!!
