A blog has been something that I've wanted to create for some time now, I just haven't had anyone willing to post it for me. So when i found out that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was preparing to conduct a study on inmate blogging--I couldn't sign up fast enough. Not only will this give me opportunity to post the things I wish, but also to participate in a study of such a prestigious place as M.I.T. and help them with their research. While simultaneously opening a line of communication with other individuals.

Since this is my first posting I'll keep it to a short introduction and bio: My full name is Johnny Earl Mahaffey, I am 32-years-old and currently incarcerated for the charge of murder in the highest degree. I am a father of five, and until my incarceration I was happily married and had a great life; we had our own home and not a worry in the world. That is until the Anderson County Sheriff's Office (S.C.) decided to wrongly charge me for a murder that I was not guilty of. I lost everything, including my wife.

With each subsequent posting I hope to build up a compendious, if not detailed, blog of my life and the events that brought me to my current situation.
