'Oldskool Love' by Lupe Fiasko

Hip-hop in its original form, is about being intelligent, why, having fun lyrically, metaphorically, dropping bombs on imbeciles, not yet developed to understand our ciphers, rappers battling four titles, bragging rights, in murking the competition, putting their city on the map, hitting up fools with so many lyrical assaults you better step your game up, before you style bite from me... our hip-hop culture has brought out competitors from everywhere across the globe either to require money and fame, or to do something positive, spitting about how they struggle to influence a world of disadvantaged kids, that doesn't know about anything else, but playing professional ball or being a entertainer, and no matter our differences, no two men's struggles are exactly the same,, because the struggles we endure all affect us in different ways, depending on the style of music we grew up to, and what form of motivation we took root too, as there will always be an ongoing debate about what's better "lyrics or actual substance", because if you can't do it all now-a-days you'll be limited, as many good rappers are selling out for the money and fame, letting the music industry water down our sound, so anybody can jump on the band wagon, and the totally different styles of hip-hop music is innovative to enlighten the people, as the east coast where it all began was on mostly hip-hop lyrical style, on some Mafia don lifestyle, they have been exposed to, with all the drug kingpins, and most rappers in the west coast, rapped about the ghetto, that was more revolutionary but gangster attitude, that pissed off America, and then down south came into the game on some strictly dope boy music, promoting a materialistic lifestyle, splurging money on strippers in the club, booty shaking music, that racist America found their thing to exploit, and it all goes back to a rapper's motivation being fuelled by the need to prove everyone wrong that doubted us, and do it to get ahead in life, where a lot of other rappers give the impression that we bettered ourselves for the betterment of our people, as to want to stop seeing women and kids being oppressed and exploited by the powers that be, who want to control everything in this racist country, on who can profit off what's going on in America, because lyrics don't mean anything, if they don't also sound good and deliver good, and what makes a great rap artist is one who can translate their lifestyle on wax, having balance in being able to connect on so many different levels of the game.
