A Call For Support of the Texas CURE's "Fan To Prisoners" Program
This is an open letter to the public. With the summer upon us, it is imperative (in some cases possibly a matter of life and death) that state prisoners in Texas have readily available access to a fan.
The Texas Observer published an article in late-2012 entitled "Caged Heat" that details the dangers freed by prisoner confined in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). News station Across the State has since reported on the deadly dilemma faced by TDCJ guards and prisoners during the summer months.
