Poems

From Counterfeit Freedom by Roland F. Stoecker Jr (author's profile)

Transcription

-Lonesome Dave bursts into flames-

-Drowning-
A thousand fragments of life and love
sinks into a vast ocean of what's to be never again.
I wade through the memories of you
of us.
Compelled to cup a hand full at a time
relive every sacred moment as it slips
though the cracks of my hands

-Birds of Pain-
I can't help
the bird of pain
break free of their white cage
in the lonely dark and silence
I hear them singing their love sick songs.

-Two AM-
She whispers
I love you
into the phone
as she lays next to him.
I'm staring at the side of the bed
she used to lie in.
In the mornings I swear
I can smell her perfume
starting my day off with the cold dread
that she will still be gone
when I get home

I really enjoy your writing! It's always a pleasure! Do you have any other poetry about love? I'm a romantic and your words are beautiful!!
