Subject: Public Executions
The government states that our citizenry is in support of the death penalty, so why not televise live executions from start to finish. Every channel would cut into your current programming to air the event. The family would sit around the television to watch how the State indiscriminately execute those sentenced to die by firing squad, gas chamber, electrocution or lethal injection. The people will get a front row seat at how justice is dispensed in this country. From the moment the convicted is strapped to the death gurney, to the the groans of pain from the 18 mins to an hour probing by technicians looking for a vein (which often requires deep cutting into the groin or leg area, to the injection of the lethal chemicals that often causes violent reactions (head, chest or abdomen spasming; gasps, gagging & coughing; and bucking against the restraints) until death comes maybe 11 mins to an hour later. No breaks in the viewing, just uninterrupted justice being administered. Afterwards, they can all walk down the street holding hands with their heads held high declaring how proud they are to be an American. How can the pro-death penalty proponents deny the citizens of this great American right, something they claim the people truly want to deter crime, botched executions. Draw back the curtains and let America see just how humane these executions are.
