When The mask Comes Off

When The Mask Comes Off

When the mask comes off,
You want to start things,
Test things,
Testing everything,
Ripping and running things,
Throwing things,
Acting like a thing,
Wanting to climb in a ring,
Doorbell rings,
Now I have rings,
Around my eyes,
Evidence that I've been crying,
Because you used to be strong,
Everything was done easily,
Softly,
And gently,
Sweet to me,
Washed my feet for me,
Easily, we tried everything,
Delicately,
Your hands were soft like a cloth,
But when the mask comes off,
Your hands are callous like a rock,
We used to knock together,
Now you knock my feathers,
Level me,
What I do is no good for you,
That's what I hate,
Always a debate,
When the mask comes off.
