Roza's Fresh Pizza Feeds The Homeless

Hi, everybody. How are you? I hope good.

I know that some of the homeless in Philadelphia are doing a bit better. I saw an amazing story about this pretty special pizza joint called Rosa's Fresh Pizza in Philly. The owner, 27-year-old Mason Wartman, said his customers came up with the idea of buying pizza for the thousands of homeless people every day in Philly. You buy a $1 slice for yourself and some homeless person gets treated to a slice too. This young man is a pretty amazing person to do this at his own expense. I'm not sure exactly where Roza's is in Philly, but I'm sure you can google it.

They have a wall of post-its and, from what I saw, even if you don't have a hungry homeless person around, you buy your slice, leave a post it note on the wall, and a homeless person can take it down and hand it in for a free slice. You can't beat that.

So anyone from the Bucks County and Philly area, when you're in the city, go check out Roza's. Remember, not every homeless person is an alcoholic or a junkie. A lot are poor families on hard times, military vets who couldn't get any help, or just people who are lost. Some are children, prostitutes. They all deserve a hot meal. If we're not willing to work together to solve the problems of today, then they will only continue to escalate until there is no going back.

I haven't had pizza since August 1998 (my fault). Just remembering the last time I shared a pizza with my Justine. We would always get two whole pies. By the time night was over, they'd be gone. I can eat for someone who is 165 pounds. But Justice (100 pounds), she could eat almost an entire pizza herself. I have a million wonderful memories of her, and that's one of them.

Can anyone tell me what's a fair price to charge for a 19" flat screen RCA lead TV? No special functions, no computer or HDMI hook ups. Just a simple TV to watch TV on. I was told around $100, but we are being charged $260 for the same TV.

I don't understand how someone can sell you something at whatever price they want to charge. It makes no sense to me. I have no problem paying a fair price but, when you rip off our families, it's not right. They are the ones who buy the TVs and stuff for us. I have written to the Bureau of Consumer Protection, but they said that they have no jurisdiction over this. Well, if you don't, who does? That's like going to a grocery store, most people like eggs. They know this so they raise their prices to $10 for a dozen eggs.

There has to be something illegal about overcharging or intentionally price gouging for profits. If anyone has any idea who I can file a complaint with, please send me an address. My mom bought me a 19" LCD Viewsonic flatscreen TV in 2009. Cost $250. I was told they cost under $100 on the Viewsonic website.

The money they steal from my family isn't going to charity. It's not going to help anyone. It's all going to make for-profit companies richer. They are the ones who truly run this country. Do you think Obama or Congress would ever dare pass a law that would go against what big businesses wanted? No way. So if anyone has any ideas for me, anyone I can file a complaint to or write to, please let me know. Grazie (thank you).

My last thought of today is Valentine's Day is coming up. Less than 30 days, guys.

My last Valentine's Day was spent at a little Italian restaurant. Justine had the veal and I had spaghetti. Thank god she didn't know exactly what veal was or she would have cried. She was that kind of girl, such a big and loving heart. We ate half of our plates, took the rest home. It might have been freezing cold, but we had an amazing day together. Valentine's Day is not just the night. I celebrated her and our love for the entire day. So treat the special woman in your life to a day of happiness.
