Boy have they let this joint, MCI Norfolk, get away from them! I could not believe just how far downhill this place has gone in the short five years I have been gone. Last time I was here there were hardly any drugs in the facility. Now men are openly smoking K-2 and weed out in the yard, the Probation Unit reeks of K-2 smoke all night long, and drug deals are done right out in the open in both fields. This is so far from the "Rehabilitation Model" that MCI Norfolk was designed to be. These folks are, the staff, are criminals here and the tail wags the dog.

Norfolk use to produce men like Malcom X, Kevin Wayne Thomas, Kazi Touri, and Leonard Lacey. Now this joint produces Dominic Cinelli, Daniel Tavares, and the men who just shot the police officer in Auburn. It is all by design as the "jobs program" that is modern corrections demands men come back to prison on even more violent crimes. It is planned and malicious. Don't be a fool. This is all by planned design.

I'm still getting settled in again here, and you can be certain I will be reporting more, but my initial assessment of the current state of Norfolk is that it is in "crash and burn" mode. Fake "Restorative Justice" offerings are masking the real tragedy here. The press covering that event did not see the daily injection of hopelessness that the staff here subjects the population to. Zombies wander the yards complaining about food and showers, while their next prison sentence looms on the dark horizon. I hope I can help wake some of them up here.

The voice of the prisoner will be heard at MCI Norfolk. I am actively working on that. I hope to assemble some men who can work independently of the groups and "council" here as those bodies are currently corpses controlled by the administration.

Outside agencies and political activists are listening. I will rally them as best I can to fully expose what is going on at MCI Norfolk. You can trust and believe I will work hard to expose the failures and abuse. There will be more to come in the very near future. Stay tuned to Free Speech Central and leave comments.
