What's in a Name

"Amerika/why you want to treat me so cold/I done gave you all that I own/took me from my mom so young/lock me up and gave me yo' NAME..."

Is the "name" or "names" which Black/Afrikan people adorn or bear of any significance...TO YOU?

Can you identify or name a WHITE PERSON whom refers to him/herself by or with the use of a Black/Afrikan name? If not, WHY is this the case? Under normal circumstances -- e.g..., as when a people aren't subjected to ALIEN cultural racial/religious groups like that of Semitic-Islam, European-Catholicism/Christianity, which were in fact IMPOSED on Black/Afrikan folks -- doesn't the names of a people, as is definitely natural, originate from THEIR OWN CULTURE?

Are you Arab-Semitic European? If history establishes that such names as that of for example (Ali, Malik, Abdul, Daud, Paul, Mark, Mary, Jones, Smith, Williams, James, Michael, Johnson, etc.) actually originate WITH White or Semitic peoples and existed BEFORE the RELIGIONS of ISLAM and CHRISTIANITY; doesn't this, then, logically show that these names are in fact NOT "Muslim" and "Christian" names? Not according to those Blacks/Afrikans immersed, BLINDLY SO, in the culture, ideology and worldviews of Semites and Europeans since they'd not have the historically educated of us believe so.

Are Black/Afrikan names not beautiful and doesn't our languages have power and a natural rhythm? I mean, are you one whom believes that somehow -- BY THE DEADLY EFFECTIVE SHACKLING OF YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT -- OUR creations (i.e. CULTURAL TRADITIONS, CUSTOMS, WORLDVIEWS, RELIGIONS/SPIRITUAL SYSTEMS, IDEOLOGIES, ET AL.) are of an "inferior" nature to those of other people?

"Other INVADERS found penetration easy under the BANNERS OF RELIGION. Full advantage was taken of the fact that Afrikans are a very religious people. FIRST CAME THE CRESCENT FLAG OF THE PROPHET, THE ISLAMIC ADVANCE was three pronged: proselytizing missions claiming one brotherhood; wide spread intermarriages and concubinage with AFRIKAN WOMEN, due to the Muslim system of polygamy; and FORCEFUL CONVERSION AT THE SWORD, THE CROSS OF JESUS FOLLOWED THE MUSLIM CRESCENT, THE CLOAK OF CHRISTIANITY was a most convenient hiding place for those who had OTHER DESIGNS. Hence, the drive to convert. Conversion here meant far more than conversion to Christianity. As in the case of ISLAM, it meant CHANGE INTO THE WHITE MAN'S IMAGE, HIS IDEAS AND VALUE SYSTEM. The real object of worship turned out to be neither Jesus Christ not his Father God, but Western man and Western civilization..."
- Dr. Chancellor Williams
(The Destruction of Black Civilization)

Now, quite naturally for those brothers and sisters whom are genuinely interested in the TRUE LIBERATION OF THEIR "MIND, BODY & SPIRIT," then, what is absolutely necessary to grasp and recognize is what Dr. Williams stresses above as regards the actual DESIGN of European-Christianity having been IMPOSED in our people or world; equally applies to Semitic-Islam, i.e., Semites ALSO demanded of OUR PEOPLE the forced acceptance of THEIR IMAGE, IDEAS AND VALUE SYSTEM.

Yes, history confirms that as in the case of Christianity, "...THE REAL OBJECT OF WORSHIP TURNED OUT TO BE NEITHER MUHAMMED NOR HIS FAHER, ALLAH, BUT SEMITIC MAN AND SEMITIC CIVILIZATION OR THE CULTURAL TRADITIONS AND WORLDVIEW OF A PEOPLE WHOM ARE ESSENTIALLY OF THE WHITE WESTERN WORLD'S ETHOS.

Indeed, I realize that for many brothers and sisters practicing Islam -- deeply emotionally and mentally attached -- that this basic TRUTH shall be difficult to embrace and thus you'll find any-and-all rationalization to reject what is here stated by virtue of the profound indoctrination which has ENSLAVED your hearts and souls. But, I ask wouldn't you think it's quite natural, SANE, for a people to be rooted in and for their names to derive from THEIR...OWN HISTORY? If we're serious about being LIBERATED, then, that means the CHANGE OF OUR HEART AND MINDS MUST BE BASED ON OUR AFRIKAN TRUTH.

Is "IDENTITY" important in terms of providing a person/culture group a deep sense of MEANING, WORTH and UNIQUENESS? Does a name operate to shape and influence people on the plane of HOW they view and approach life, i.e., do these orient individuals/people or cultural groups to perceive themselves and to think of the world in a certain way? Why do so many Black males assume and refer to themselves by the WHITE NAME -- "AL CAPONE?" Isn't this actually related to the fact that, in their confused minds, by assuming and referring to themselves by this WHITE NAME, THEY'RE ESSENTIALLY conveying to the world that THIS is HOW they PERCEIVE OF THEMSELVES and indeed that of LIFE, correct?

What of importance did "Capone" do for our people and didn't folks like him actually participate in the POISONOUS and VIOLENT DESTRUCTION of our communities? Is THIS, what those bearing proudly his name -- and other such WHITE NAMES which Black/Afrikan males seem to have a damn obsession with -- admire and want to uphold? At any rate, that the name/names one/groups bear actually function to root them in a particular WORLDVIEW and BELIEF SYSTEM/SET OF VALUES, is proven and seen by the fact that, those Black/New Afrikan males whom refer to themselves by "Capone," "Gotti," "Frank Nitty," "Scarface," etc., ALSO think of themselves and hence live in this way.
"What's in a name?" It is the total and natural SENSE OF ...SELF.

"I understand now. It's not lettin' the white folks DEFINE YO' STORY. It's about makin' it yo' OWN. I get it now."
