SIster Helen Prejean Interview (July 2016)

Stranded on California's death row at San Quentin, I read the recent interview with Sister Helen Prejean (7/2016) and find her to be someone concerned with "insightful" justice, not "blind" justice.
I agree with her assessment of the U.S. justice system. Who is administrating justice and how they apply justice based on their implicit identity with a defendant; and how a lack of knowledge and understanding of the law is an obstacle to justice.
Racism played a key role in my wrongful conviction—from the police to the jury—that resulted in acts of malfeasance and misfeasance (see http://betweenthebars.org/blogs/7375). Defendants are regularly admonished by judges, "A failure to know the law is no excuse." However, it's commonly accepted that juries are made up of novices, holding a rudimentary knowledge of the law which makes every trial from the outset unfair and unjust.
From my stance on Maa, a voice from death row!
