- EMANCIPATION INITIATIVE TO HOLD COMMUNITY EVENT IN WORCESTER

The Voice Of The Informed Prisoner will again be heard in the City of Worcester on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 700 Southbridge Street, Worcester, MA, 01610. This event, conceived, planned and organized by prisoners, will address the failed social and criminal justice systems with a theme of building political power to make change. Free Speech Central will have a representative there to address the lack of staff accountability in the department of "corruption" as well as to expose the efforts to silence the voice of the informed prisoner in the corrupt system. ** PLEASE SEE OUR FLYER WHICH FOLLOWS **

- HOUDINI AND DAVID BLANE WORKING AT NORFOLK GYMNASIUM

Our "Recreation Supervisor", Janey's Got A Gun, has hired both the ghost of Harry Houdini and Magician David Blane to work down in the Norfolk Gymnasium; otherwise known as the "crib" as it is where the Badge Wearing Coaches take naps from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday while the "shop is closed". This $88,980.97 a year Athletic Supporter felt it was important to employ these two prestidigitators as maybe they could make the cons disappear and nap time could be extended. Their first act of real magic was to make two (2) exercise bikes disappear. These bikes have vanished without a trace and all the efforts of the Norfolk Athletic Committee to find out where they are have fallen short of the mark. Janey's Got A Gun, quite the sorcerer himself, already made the flag football disappear and a few bushels of beaf steak tomatoes, so he is in good company. - IRS AUDITS GREEN CHICKENHEAD FOR FAILURE TO REPORT ROYALTIES

It has been reported that the IRS is auditing our illustrious Food Services Director, The Green Chickenhead, for failure to report royalties he earned from writing the Village People's smash hit "In The Navy". The Head could not be reached for comment as he was out playing "Pearl Harbor"; he is in Hawaii blowing up the Seventh Fleet!

The Emancipation Initiative invites all Massachusetts residents to join us in our participatory process of legislative planning. We have set out a course of hosting planning events throughout different towns and cities within Massachusetts in our effort to establish a state-wide community voice for all [Massachusetts] citizens; especially those excluded from our political process here in [Massachusetts] via incarceration.

EVENT DESCRIPTION
- A planning event addressing failed social and criminal justice policies that fuel the growth of life sentences and mass incarceration
- This event is structured for group discussion, reflection, and democratic decision making that collectively serve to build political power and link shared interest
- Enables participants to plan, organize, and address broader societal injustices in our local county and state affairs

Why I Do This

The PIC came along one day and ran over me. Just like that. Without a point of reference & having had ZERO significant dealings with law. It did things to me I didn't think humans could endure, such was the agony. The more I discovered about its vile ways, the more I realized just how badly my life upended without warning, the more infuriated I became. That fury has not abated one bit, in 21 months. Where was I in the voting process when Mandatory Minimums were brought about? I never looked at my youngest child with suspicious eyes, those laws would never effect him, because I didn't bring up a lawbreaker; I am not one myself.

Yet he is entrapped in a system designed to make bad men worse, and okay men bad. Mothers are supposed to let their kids go when the child is deemed ready. My child was not ready. He wasn't ready for offspring at 18. He chose an abuser as mother to his child. He wasn't ready for another at 23. He was in the process of maturing, certainly nowhere near it, the entire time, so my son is almost someone I'm not sure I know well. So how can I help him from out here? His world just shrank 18 sizes, and I am locked out(still...have been since he was 18). I literally don't know the man who will emerge from prison, nor do I know exactly when that will happen. So what to do? How to contain this new complex labyrinth of emotional wreckage?

Change the system. From every angle. Because every angle is so twisted. There's no part of the prison system that has a heart. The rules and restrictions suffocate everything: family relationships, finances, creativity, love, growth. Their juvenile, medical, education, recreation, work, nutrition, parole and re-entry programs are all horrible. No part of the prison system works for the prisoner or their families. You cannot put humans on stasis and expect a good outcome. I don't only have a son in there. I hypothetically have a grandfather in there. A brother. A spouse. The elderly. The mentally ill and drug addicted. The illegal alien. The overcharging, the oversentencing, all of it. It all has to matter to me, to US. Their future is OUR future!

But in order to change the prison system, you have to change the government that runs it. And you have to be willing to fight for ALL parts of the system. It all has to matter. Not just the matters that apply to your corner of reality. Sacrifice isn't supposed to feel good. If it does, you're doing it wrong.

NIC Athletics Committee - Correspondence

RE: Two (2) Exercise bikes - MISSING

Since early November 2016 we have been "down" one (1) exercise bike and then another, shortly thereafter - for a total of two (2) out of service. We (many of us) mistakenly presumed that repair was in progress. Both have been taken off the floor ”OUT OF SERVICE" and we have had no response to inquires as to where the bikes are.

From copies of letters attached, you can see that we have been attempting to receive a response asking where the bikes are and if an actual repair was in progress and/or if any attempt to repair being made. We have suggested - sending both bikes to the MassCor Industries Maintenance Shop for evaluation and repair. Industries has a wide selection of tools, the facility and capability of fabrication of parts if necessary along with the substantial expertise of gifted workers with high mechanical aptitude. They could surely "trouble shoot" the problem/s and put the bikes back into service quickly at minimal cost. The MassCor Maintenance Shop Manager has been contacted by NIC Council Committee members and he was willing to receive the ”out of service'. bikes for evaluation and possible repair - but no one called him.

I suggest that there should be and official inquiry into the disappearance of two (2) valuable pieces of expensive equipment. 1. Where are they? 2. Why the secrecy? 3. Have they been disposed of? 4. Were they junked or given away? - if so, who authorized the disposal? 5. Where is the paperwork? 6. Is this a case of conspiring to sell and/or receive misappropriated (stolen) State Property? 7. Would the LAC be interested in investigating this matter?
