I write to thank you personally for suggesting my awarding Dr. John Collins our "Cardinal John J. Wright Award". Obviously I had read and have always been impressed with Dr. Collins's writing about Thomas Merton. However I have never had the opportunity to meet John. This will happen on April 21, 2016 when I personally bestow our diocesan award to him at our Chancery Building in Worcester.
Once again, thank you for writing to me so as "to get the ball rolling". From your letter, it is obvious that your encounters with Dr. Collins have greatly impacted your development in the spiritual life.
