Pass the Pen Project

Pass the Pen is a ongoing process-oriented collaborative creative writing project designed to encourage solidarity and empowerment among incarcerated individuals through writing.

Bios

- Sarvenaz is an artist/healer that has works with survivors of incarceration inside and outside prison walls. Her practice involves self-empowerment through process-oriented expression using theater, visual art and writing.
- Timothy J. Muise has served fourteen years of a twenty year sentence at MCI Shirley, as a tragic consequence of his drug addiction. In prison, Tim found his true calling in life, to do good work for others. He is prisoners' rights activist and member of many prison and community groups, inside and outside of prison. "To ensure that every man, woman, and child who walk those streets are safe, radical change must be brought, and this type of change can only be brought with radical action."
- Wayland Coleman is an incarcerated artist and graphic novelist.
