I want to thank you for all that you do there at Between the Bars. You offer a place for conversations that would otherwise never take place -- and these are important issues for societal development.
Prison is full of 95 percent, trash. Boys, and some men -- very few actual men -- that DO NOT deserve any semblance of a second chance. But, that 5 percent that do, we are lost within the system, hidden in the shadows cast by the actions of those surrounding us.
When M.I.T. first created this program, I can only imagine what they expected of it, and what they now think of what it has become. This program has helped me in more ways than I can list. Words of hope, like those posted from dgrb93, provide consolation. It's nice to know that despite being surrounded by child molesters, meth heads, needle-pushers, and all around junkie losers -- I'm still seen, I exist outside of this world of tatted up druggies, and my words still count.
It's my hope, that I can inspire people to take a close look at the people around them -- and remove all of the negative people from your life. Life is too short to get drowned by the self-induced dramas of others. And let ALL single mothers beware, you bring dates, friends or "paramours" around your kid(s) -- you better make sure that you've got a few "nanny cams" in place! Just so you'll know; because you never know about the times you were wrong, until it's too late.
