Subject: Odd moments in prison

So this morning I am getting ready for work and, as I usually have done for over six years, it is in nearly dark conditions. I made a mental note that the toilet sounded like it was flushing slowly. I wondered if the line had frozen or backed up.

On my way out the door, fifteen minutes later and still in the dark, I stepped into the cold morning air. Only then realizing that my wool cap (beannie cover, or watch cap to Navy folk) was not in its normal place—tucked in my waistband. No big deal, I forgot it on my bunk. Nope.

You guessed it. That's why the toilet was slow, alright.

Damn! My favorite watch cap! Sucks being over 50 sometimes. Pass me my AARP card somebody!
