SELF-ADORATION

It is an ugly thing: lying
Manipulating and taking what one needs
From another by pretending to be what they want
And when that need has come to
Its inevitable ending—the manipulation
Turns in another. "Love" without adoration
Adoration without truth—as Charlie Brown
gags away NOT on peanut butter, but a mouth
Full of his own shit—all of the lies
That he has told, come reality

It is an ugly thing: using
Another as a crutch, tossing them aside
Yet turning to them when in need, with some
Self-imposed drama or emergency, in plea
If #1 says no—then try #2
If #2 says f-you—then look, #14, the non-priority
Is calling: "What's up" "NO!" "Really?" "Well, F- you!"
It is a sad thing how one person's lying
Becomes the dying of others
All for the sake of what? A lay? A fling?

It is an awesome truth: time
How through it, Truth loves to sing
