Fear And Worry Upon Release, Persecution Ahead

Hello, everyone. I have been granted parole and find myself worried about what is going to happen.

I will have completed over 15 years straight, so I really don't know what it's like out there anymore. I have gotten old in here. I was 36 when I got locked up and will be 51 upon release. When I was out, an old homo was a lonely homo. I have picked up a couple of physical issues that will make it very hard to work and the type of jobs I was good at involved intimidation and hurting others. I refuse to do that anymore, so I'll have to figure out a way to live on S.S.D.I. without any side hustles.

I'll be living in a halfway house when I get out because I don't know anyone out there, and more of them charge between $450 to $600 a month. S.S.D.I. isn't even $800 a month, and I'll have to pay supervision fees and the programs they make us take. So, I'll have less than $200 a month left over. How am I supposed to save enough to rent an apartment, buy shoes and clothes, a dependable car, a computer, and the programs to work on my writing?

I'm a sex offender with a violent history, so it's pretty much a guarantee that the cops and parole offices are going to give me a hard time. I'm gay, so what Christian isn't going to tear into me and let me know I'm an abomination? How am I supposed to begin a healthy relationship in second-hand clothes, no car or apartment, and no money?

Look, I know fear and worry are tools of the enemy. I trust God, but I've already been rejected by several Christian programs and organizations because of my charges. I have absolutely no support out there, no friends, no family, no help. And a society that looks like it has no intention on giving me a second chance. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. God bless you all.

Peace and love :),

Hey there! I've sent some emails to some organizations that may or may not help you. I'm hoping they'll contact you soon.

One of them already got back to me. Here's what they said:

"Donny Welch can find assistance in Beeville by contacting Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend.

They have a career center in Beeville located at 3800 Charco Rd, Beeville, TX 78102. You may contact them at 361-358-8941 or 800-666-0479. The center offers support services for job seekers, including those with criminal backgrounds."

I don't know if you have contacted them or not, but there is a nonprofit Texas organization that claims to help people in your situation. Maybe give them a shot.

I'll copy and paste their information here for you. Good luck! Don't give up on yourself!

Donny hi, I met you after you got out, just 3 days after you got out.

You said you were a sex offender, and have a violent history. But Jesus says through Paul, "such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11 NKJ)

I can tell you, not through prophecy and not by hope, but by sight, how you are going to make it.
God has a plan.
That's it, and no one is going to move His plan, nor His little finger.

But you are lovable and will continue to do great things. God loved you when you were living as His enemy, and said, defect, and you said no way, but God had His battle with you. You lost, surrendered, and have been wildly in love with God ever since.

Not only that but you became His own son.

Now we can't miss God in you, and Jesus is going to use you brother. See how God gave you a place and called you to the work. Now you want to get in the game and play right? Because God has work for you to do. God loves a willing heart. Amen.

And I thank God for His good will toward us.
