Incarcerated

Incarcerated

I have been incarcerated since 1991. In that time, I've been housed in numerous prisons: (1) New Folsom, (2) Old Folsom, (3) Pelican Bay, (4) High Desert, (5) Sat "F" Corcoran, (6) Corcoran SHU, (7) Stockton Hospital, (8) Delano, (9) Lancaster, and now Mule Creek.

I was put up for a transfer from three different locations. It's taken me almost 30 years to get to Mule Creek State Prison, which potentially enables me to get visits from my family members.

The California prison industries does not care if an inmate maintains family ties. At least in my case, this holds true. They have prisons throughout California, 34 in all. This total does not reflect their fire camps and other detention centers.

At any time during my incarceration, they could have housed me here. Instead, they waited until my parents passed away and all my siblings moved out of the state.

I am sorry to hear it took that long for you to be moved near your family. Thank you for sharing.
