Reflections
Where I have been, where I am now. And setting my GPS to navigate my WAY to the future; to obtain my freedom!

To have survived to see 2020 is so jaw-dropping for me. I was convinced I would be dead by 20 years old. To overcome the struggle we call life, to have overcome, to have outwit, to have withstood and sometimes to have outrun. The many obstacles that tried to break me.

Here I stand 42 years old, captured behind steel bars! covered with steel mesh! breathing in 500 men's dead skin cells! and thousand-year-old dust mites! And only God knows what is growing on that bologna stuck on the wall. LOL

I have been told my perception of things go further than intended. Case in point, we was talking about the poem "Footsteps Bye":

Where there was only one set of footprints in the sand
Alluding to God carried the person
I respond I would have asked God
To put me down!
So I can look back at
my own footprints
at the trials and
tribulations I have survived!
So I will be able to
look God square in the
eyes and say
Thank you for your
mercy, your grace,
your love...

Sitting on death row 20+ years. A black man accused of killing a white man with no evidence of me pulling the trigger. (Look it up.) Now the presence of new laws makes it possible to have a second chance at a new future. Justice hid her face from me twice, but I'm wiser now and got justice addressed.

I am going home.
