1st off about time Lts Sgts have assigned someone specialize in hobbies crafts and the needs of others needing hobbies craft - materials. I been here 5 yrs ain't been a clerk til now. Whats up with that? Now my concerns are now. Nothing allowed to order the items I need much less the amount. There's so many different art forms then painting, and your itemized list is basically set up for people who paint so that definitely needs to be revised. Cause items and amounts we were allowed in Salinas Valley from this same catalog was a 100x better than this soft ass prison. The list was way bigger and amount were bigger as well. The person who made this itemized list, you can tell they do not have a artistic bone throughout their body. Kudos though on getting a yard one our special purchase clear. Finally

I feel & think this job is a great rehabilitative step or initiative for inmates to have access/resources provided to them, so we can e occupied w/ learning and learning to be self sufficient while incarcerated and during parole, and legally self sufficient on the streets. Art is my stress and anxiety reliever and its the way I express myself, so I consider it part of my rehabilitation. I keep focused every week to meet with this man to look at the catalogs and to order supplies but ew are very very limited to what we can order. It would be very helpful to my rehabilitation if we could expand the options on what we can order with the institution's safety in mind. I would like to order fine felt tip ones that are already allowed through Walkenhorst's but they don't have them in color which is what I would like to order through this hobby arts and crafts. Thank you

I'm glad to see survey being conducted on the efficiency of the way are R&R is being Handlock, I'll have more thoughts and suggestions at a later time.

6/6/20 As prisoners we are selfish by nature. However, we do on occasion meet other inmates who take their time to put other people before themselves and I see this daily from our special purchase clerk. He is constantly keeping the population informed by communicating with certain staff when we can't. And he address even our smallest of concerns regarding R&R. Our special purchase clerk is inspiring.
