On Black August - Solidarity From A
"White Ally"/Accomplice!
By Jennifer Rose, the Fire Ant Collective

"Amerikan prisons and the activities
which they prohibit are aimed at very
distinctly defined sections of the class -
and race - sensitized society. The
ultimate expression of law is not order,
- its prisons. There are hundreds upon
hundreds of prisons, and thousands upon
thousands of laws, yet there is no social
order, no social peace. The law and
everything that interlocks with it was
constructed for poor desperate people
like me."(1)
-George Jackson

On Black August 2020, as I read
the above quote by George Jackson, (R.I.P),
Field Marshall of the Black Panther Party
(BPP) under Minister of Defense Huey P.
Newton, I'm thinking how undeniably true
and still relevant this statement is!
While I'm not a Black, or New Afrikan
person, or a participant in Black August
observances with such revolutionary
cadres; as a "white ally"/accomplice
and revolutionary abolitionist/anarchist
co. founder of the Fire Ant Collective(2); and
Legal Advocate member of the Black trans-
led TGI Justice Project(3), and Black women
of color-led National Council of Incarcerated
and formerly Incarcerated Women and
Girls(4); who is also part-Cherokee/Native,
I could not agree more! I could have
even written this statement myself, and
have probably at some point in time made
a similar statement in my long-time
work as an activist writer!

While I may not agree with everything
this revolutionary Black hero said or
wrote, I would definitely say he is an
inspiration to me; along with my main
inspiration and revolutionary hero,
Assata Shakur, beloved by many of
the People, and hated by the few in
the colonial/white supremacist U.S.
federal government.(5)

Another I can proudly claim as a
revolutionary hero and inspiration is
Kuwasi Balagoon, an unapologetic gay
Black anarchist member of the Black
Liberation Army (BLA). Also, Marsha P.
Johnson, a Black drag queen and veteran
of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion who, along
with Sylvia Rivera, co-founded the
Street Trans Action Revolutionaries (STAR)
Collective. They are both widely renowned
as the "Mothers of the Transgender Liberation
Movement; after they spit from the
Gay Liberation Front (GLF); (a radical group
that connected the struggle against gay
oppression to other liberation movements
of the 1960s); to form STAR to provide
necessary direct services (like food,
housing, and bail bonds/legal advocacy)
to homeless trans kids and sex workers.
They also demanded existing gay groups
be more inclusive of trans peoples' issues
in their campaigns, and built solidarity
with revolutionary movements/organizations
such as the Black Panthers and the Young
Lord's Party (an NYC Puerto Rican Independence
youth-led group).(6)

I want to end by expressing my
unconditional support and revolutionary
solidarity, as a part-Native/Cherokee
"White Ally"/accomplice, with all forms
of Black Resistance (and anti-imperialist/
anti-racist/anti-fascist struggle) against
White Supremacy, slavery (including its
continued legalized practice under the
U.S. Constitution, 13th Amendment, "...as
punishment for crime..."), and genocide,
under the U.S. Colonial/federal government
since July 4, 1776, the signing of the
Declaration of Independence,
by white supremacist/
Colonialist state delegates
to the U.S. Congress, who
were mainly white male
slave owners who were rich
Capitalist property/land
owners. I stand with Black
people, whether this includes
Black Lives Matter (BLM)
protest, demonstrations,
which we may join, supporting BPP/
BLA political prisoners/P.O.W. campaigns,
or New Afrikan Black Panther Party,
Prison Chapter (NABPP-PC) comrades;
or engaging in the nationwide popular
REVOLT and insurrectionary anarchist/
anti-fascist actions; in city-wide/
statewide street battles with fascists/
white nationalists, and U.S. federal police
forces ("Trump's Stormtroopers"), who have
continuously attacked peaceful political
protesters, civilians, and even journalists'
video-recording public events while
reporting the news live!

In observance of Black August; and
in memory of George Jackson, Kuwasi
Balagoon, Jonathan Jackson, Nat Turner,
Harriett Tubman, Malcolm X, John Brown,
Oscar Grant, Michael Brown, Eric Garner,
Philando Castille, Sandra Bland, Micah
Johnson, the MOVE children murdered by
Philly Police pigs, Marsha P. Johnson,
Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tamir Rice,
Tony McDade, Fred Hampton, Hugo "Yogi" Pinell,
Ahmad Aubrey, Brendon Glenn, and countless
others too infinitely numerous to name
here; I will study Black/New Afrikan culture
and history; the abolitionist & ongoing Black
Liberation Movement from early slave revolts
and radical abolitionist movements, to the
current #BlackLivesMatter; and nationwide
popular REVOLT, by various communities of people
and Resistance groups/political factions,
including anarchist, antifa, prison abolitionists,
and Black Autonomy/New Afrikan Independence
Movement collectives.

As a part-Cherokee/Native "white" person,
an incarcerated transwoman, and anarchist/
antifa prisoner; I will extend my unconditional
support and solidarity to ALL anti-fascists,
anti-imperialists, anti-racists and Black/
New Afrikan people in the common "Peoples'
Resistance;" and insurrectionary/revolutionary
struggle AGAINST WHITE SUPREMACY, and
systemic racism in the U.S.; and AGAINST
CAPITALISM which is destroying our
Mother Earth! AGAINST FASCISM! I will
fight for a world without police and prisons!

"I have been locked by the lawless.
Hand-cuffed by the haters.
Gagged by the greedy.
And, if I know anything at all,
it's that a wall is just a wall
and nothing more at all.
It can be broken down."
