Bill,
Thank you for your comment. Peggy was a wonderful human being who touched countless lives. I still think of her all the time. She once told me that she believed the reason I "turned out so well" was because I had a mother who loved cats. A love of cats is one of many things Peggy and my mom had in common.

Several feral cats live on the property here at the prison. Inevitably I feed and attempt (sometimes successfully) to pet them. Each and every day, when I see those cats, I think of both my mom and your sister.

And every day, when I look around at how far we've come in improving prison conditions in MS, I think again of both my mom and Peggy.

Your sister's legacy is one for the ages, literally written in history. It will never fade. She will never be forgotten. She will forever be a true civil rights hero.
