MARKETING AND FEEDBACK FROM MY BOOK

I have been marketing my book to numerous child abuse prevention programs and have received a few positive comments. Unfortunately, most people I contact never even reply. This is something I have learned to expect from anyone I contact because I am in prison. Funny think about being an inmate, people usually do not respond negatively to you, they just ignore you and pretend you do not exist. As a result of this tendency it makes marketing a book from prison extremely difficult.

Some of the most unexpected reactions to my book have been from some of the convicted sex offenders in here who have read it. I never thought a book which was written ABOUT sex offenders would have a positive impact for some who have read it. I will share with you some of the comments I have receive (both negative and positive). I find the diverse reactions very interesting.

"Reading your book was very hard for me because you said some things which I needed to hear but I did not want to hear. Before I read your book I really believed I did not have any victims because I only looked at and traded pictures. You really made me see my crimes from a different perspective."

"I could not read your book after a few pages. You are so judgmental and full of Sh**. What makes you think you know so much about why I committed my crimes? Maybe you should look in a mirror before you write a fuc*** book."

Hey man, I read your book and you really hit the nail on the head. I am telling my family to get the book. I see this everyday in here but you had the balls to call it like it is. Great job man."

"If I could, I would give a copy of this book to everyone who has children. I am ashamed of what I have done and I never really thought about why I did it until you made me see it through the eyes of someone else."

People already misunderstand individuals who are involved in intergenerational relationships and paint them out to be monsters. All we need is for someone like you to distort the truth about these unique relationships and help fuel the witch-hunt."

"I don't think I am suppose to purchase your book but I did. What you talk about, I see everyday in here. I just never really thought about what caused these people to be that way but you shed light on what I have seen for years."

I will continue to market my book the best way I can because I believe in it. The book is not for everyone and it might even offend some people. However, as I said in the book: "If this book can prevent one child from being victimized, then it was worth writing". I market the book by sitting down every Sunday and writing letters to send out. So far I have contacted 25 organizations and have only received a reply from three (3). I am in the process of getting a promotional video made which will promote the book as well as my website. I will post more on here about that as it develops.

If anyone has any ideas on how to market the book please share them with me. I will not make any money from the sales of this book and all profits will be donated to a child abuse prevention fund.
