NOT LIKE

Description of the Artwork:

In the foreground, there are three prominent figures standing in front of ancient Egyptian pyramids:

1) On the left: A muscular Egyptian pharaoh or warrior figure, shirtless, wearing a traditional nemes headdress and a short kilt. He holds a curved sword or khopesh in his right hand.
2) In the center: A Black woman dressed in ancient Egyptian-style clothing (a long wrapped dress with a prominent bow or sash at the waist, and a headdress). She stands confidently, holding a long staff or spear in her right hand.
3) On the right: A chariot being pulled by two horses (or zebras with decorative plumes). In the chariot stands an archer wearing a helmet with a large plume, drawing a bow and arrow.

The background features the classic silhouette of the Pyramids of Giza under the sky.

Joe,

I really like your artwork. The engraving-style piece, with its strong Egyptian figures and the powerful Black woman standing front and center, is striking. I especially appreciate how you placed her so confidently between the warrior and the chariot — it feels intentional and powerful.

The words “NOT LIKE” arched at the top give it a strong, almost defiant statement. It makes me stop and think.

You have a really clean, classic style that reminds me of old book illustrations, but with a clear modern message behind it. It’s impressive work, especially doing it from inside.

Thank you for sharing it. I’d love to see more of your art if you post any.

Keep creating,

Lisa
