[written on a torn-out recycled paper towel]
Thank you for your kindness and warm thoughts. I am in the hole, which is solitary confinement, and it is very lonely not having company. I welcome all letters. Please forgive the stationary. But for now, this is all I have.
Please write.

I know as a prisoner you have one of the most unheard voices in the country. That is why I am here. I have no degrees at the moment, but I am hoping to get some kind of experience for my future. If you’re willing I would like to communicate with you via this website and paper mail. I will not barrage you with questions you do not want to answer. Only share what you want to. Realize that I will be doing the same. While I am open-minded to our blossoming friendship, I will not be fulfilling any of your romantic whims. I just want to get that out on the table because I do not wish to make any contacts with prisoners hoping for romantic relationships. I want the communication to be a genuine desire to share thoughts, opinions, and experiences. That being said, I look forward to your response.
