Hello, World!

Can we agree that Junior Seau was a selfish pussy? The 20-year-old professional football player who was loved, admired, and respected by family, friends, and community shot himself in the chest, committing suicide. Was his life that bad? Hell, try a week in my prison shoes. Then shoot yourself.

I call him selfish because he obviously did not care for those who loved him. I watched the news footage of his grief-stricken mother crying out to God to take her, not her boy. Did Junior want his mother to suffer so? I call him a pussy and, though he would kick my ass if he were still alive, I would slap his face to knock some sense into him. If Junior had problems, which is obvious by his choice of how to resolve them, he had access to resources that I can't imagine.

The NFL would have surrounded him with mental health professionals, all confidential to preserve his image. During his life, Junior had given his time to charities. However, if he truly wanted to give, he could have called Dr. Phil for private or public resolution, being a positive example, and giving strength to others who many be too ashamed to seek help.

Death is never the answer. Do I sound angry? Do I sound exasperated? Well, I'm neither. I'm frustrated.

Early in my life, I made decisions that placed me in prison, a forfeiture of living a life. I'm desperate to return to it, to breathe free air, to sit on my porch and sip tea, or simply to enjoy a bowel movement without being watched.

So for anyone but someone with status like Junior Seau to kill himself, disgusts me. Life is precious. Yes, it is difficult, but that is the journey we are all on. Put down the gun. Flush the pills. Unknot the noose. If you need help—ASK!

Junior was a gift from God, gifted more than many, and he spit in God's face. He was a selfish pussy.

Thanks for checking in on me.

Cordially,
