"Phone Justice" / "AMC-2012" June 17, 2012

Wash. DOC phone system is run by V.Connect/added communications.
In-state cals are $3.61 (pre-paid) no matter how long we talk (max. of 20 minutes). So if I have to hang up early I still pay the full 20 minutes' worth.
If we have $3.60 or less on our account we cannot use it until more money is put on with a $25 minimum.
They also charge like $7 just to put $25 on our account.
I've been lucky. My oldest sister got a good job so $100 every 6 months gets us approx. 27 calls.
For 13 years we've not spoken much over the phone due to high prices, but lately things have been getting better.

Would it help to lower phone costs?

Yes. I've lost a lot of time with my family due to my actions, I've now lost 13 years of quality conversations because people out there allow others to strangle our families with high costs.
I know I committed crimes against others, but why punish my family with high costs for my crimes?
