I am submitting this in hopes that some if not all will be helpful to your AMC2012 conference. I want to address the question of "What support do you need that you are not getting?" Being incarcerated in the CA prison system is one thing I won't complain about because I put myself here. The issue is every time something is reported concerning prisons it's one sided! Example: Calif has now gone to a realignment system because te federal courts have ordered CDC to fix its over crowded system. Well once CDC finally came up with a plan to reduce overcrowding society was told that all these hardcore criminals would be released. The truth of the matter is there is people being released from one of the 33 prisons in CA everyday and society has no knowledge of that. Calif has sent thousands of inmates to privately owned prison out of state, but because these prisons are no longer being paid by CA those inmates will be coming back to our overcrowded system. Every time you look at the local news and CDC is talking about cellphones in prison the public is led to believe that all cellphones are smuggled in by our visitors and that they're being used to control gangs and drugs throughout the system. Both[?] lies but we have no one to speak the truth or challenge the media for proof. We just need an organization that's going to stand strong and be the truth voice a lot of us don't have. Hopefully I was helpful to some degree and I hope to hear about the conference.
