Hi
How is life treating you all this week? I'm doing just fine. Some days there is a lot on my mind and others I just draw a blank. The life I live has got to be the most boring life I could think of. Some days I wonder how I do it. How does a person live in a cage like an animal years after years and still find a way to smile and be happy?
Could you do it? Does it make me a strong man or does it broke me down? As humans we adapt to any and all situations. There are people who are in worse spot than me, I guess. Think about it, does a homeless man pushing a cart living in dark dirty alleyways, hungry every day, clothes are always dirty, drunk half the time.
In my opinion he is still doing better than me, why, he has freedom, choices. I have asked this same question to my family, they say it's a hard one to call. They are both very bad. You would have to live in my shoes for 19 years or be homeless, smelly, living under a bridge, trying to stay out of the river, to know how that life measures up to each other.
What do you think?
A while back I signed up to use the telephone, I was discussing the topic I was just writing about and my brother's wife was telling me that it's real hard to make a living out there, that in a way I ain't doing all that bad. It's hard for me to argue that point because I don't know what it's like to live on the streets. Hold down a job, just to find a job she tells me is not easy.
The world out there is not as easy to live like it was when I was last out there. 1994. Just paying rent & bills is so very hard. When I was out there I had a job, I was doing good, but jobs are hard to get out there these days. I pray that someday they allow me a parole date. If I live long enough to do the time the jury/judge gave me I plan on getting a job first thing.
I learned my lesson and I just want the BPT "Board of Prison Terms" to give me a chance at a life out there. What some people don't realize is I'm state property. I'm actually owned by the state of California. The strongest most powerful union in CA, the CDC, California Department Corrections, own me. The BPT is the CDC, they will decide whether I live in here for ever or they can let me go if they choose to.
My profile page says that I'm being held hostage, well, it's the truth. I was sentenced to a life term, which means after I do the time I was sentenced to then the BPT will decide whether I'm suitable to be paroled. Very soon I will explain in detail why I'm in prison and also why the judge gave me 2 sentences.
i was given 18 yrs plus a 50 years to life sentence. CDC says that my parole date is 2052 and I have already been locked up since Oct 1994. I had to do the 18 yrs first then I started the 50 yrs to life. People, I done the 18 already, can I do the 50 to life? NO. The BPT tells me that in 2045 that they will talk with me about a parole date.
So you tell me, am I being held hostage? I'm sure you can't wait to hear the story of how I got the 68 years, what I was convicted of etc. I will explain all of that to everyone. Also a CA prisoner's life is public record. Anyone can get on the computer and find out what I'm in here for, how much time I have, etc.
I will be the one to tell the story of my life, I will tell the truth. The judge, the jury, the District Attorney, paint a picture of why I got 68 years to life. I see it very very differently.
As you read about my life as I tell it to you, you all can be the judge as to is Donnie Tinsley actually being held hostage as he says he is? Keep reading and you tell me. I want everyone to keep an open mind when you read about me, what I'm in here for and why I got all this time.
Should the Government/State of CA, CDC have the right/power to never let me out? I have always believed that 2 wrongs don't make a right and the time should fit the crime. Remember that quote from me, it's important. I believe in the law. I believe there's people who should never be let out of prison.
Without laws we're all a bunch of monkeys throwing shit at each other. Please excuse my bad language. Remember that I'm not a citizen of the U.S. any longer. I'm state property. I'm not allowed to vote, I don't pay taxes. I'm also one of the people in CA, who was sentenced under the 3 strikes law.
When my case was over and the judge gave me my time he also looked into my past and used my previous prison term against me. The judge called my case a 2nd strike case which meant he doubled my sentence.
Later on in one of my blog posts I'll show you how the judge come up with the 68 years to life that he gave me. I was only supposed to get 34 years to life but he used the stupid strike law to 2nd strike me, that's how I ended up with 68 years to life.
So I now have been in prison since Oct of 1994, my earliest possible release date is 2045. I can't do all that time, my friends. Nor do I deserve that much. It's a prison sentence that no man could ever do. Honestly this sentence is against the law but I don't have an attorney to file and get my sentence fixed.
Well, anyhow I just thought I would write a few pages. I doubt that this will be posted this week but next week hopefully. Everyone, please be patient with me, I have lots of things to tell you all. I don't really want to discuss my case just yet but I will.
Till later
I love you all
Donnie
