Thanks for your positive, empowering comments.:)

I am constantly amazed at the mindset of politicians and the media in the U.S.A., particularly Wisconsin (I'm old enough to remember what it was like in the 1970s - before insanity gripped half of our population). The USA Today newspaper recently ran an article stating that only 1% of respondents to a poll consider crime to be the most important problem in the nation.

However, in Wisconsin being tough on crime is considered a necessity to win a state-wide election. Our current Republican governor repealed the early release legislation the previous Democratic governor enacted. In reality, it was more of a show-piece than effective policy. But even that enraged Republicans - which is why it was quickly repealed.

Twenty-five years ago the U.S.A. was not this divided or extremest. I attribute the change to the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine (see March 12, 2012 posting). Right-wing ideologues are free to spread lies and propaganda without the truth ever coming to light (Fox News Corp, run by Australian Rupert Murdock, is the worst one of all). The result is millions of deluded U.S. citizens supporting and advocating policies against their own best interests.

Oh well, not much I can do but be a small voice of resistance against the tyranny of extremests.

Once again, thanks for your comments. I hope your friend in Colorado gets released soon.
