How does a boy become man in our modern society, and what rite of passage will allow for a girl to become a woman in this age of feminine equality?

I believe this pandemic of youth violence that is spreading across our nation that knows no color, creed or class status is a by-product of not taking into account that there must be a transition process in order for emotional and psychological development to successfully occur.

There is another aspect of evolution that has been deemed unnecessary nowadays, and that is spirituality. We have candy coated and served in various flavors all concepts of cosmology, cosmonogy and theology, to the point that most of the cultural rituals that once caused us to aspire for the heavens are now looked upon as myth and fairytales. Most of the holy days have been turned into corporate hustles and exploited.

This can be attributed to materialism, and the direction this so-called modern society has taken us.

I believe we need to get back to the basics when it comes to child-rearing. A more moral, ethical and spiritual way of teaching our children. By leading by example and nurturing. Not yelling and threatening, or even bribing them with toys and gifts.

This is why we created the anti-bullying video "EVOLUTION OF A BULLY" (which can be found on YouTube) here at Old Colony Correctional Centre. To first give you expert knowledge on why people may do violent things. And to prove that a violent act does not define the content and character of an individual entirely.

I'm a senior facilitator for the Alternative to Violence Project, which is an international effort to thwart violence amongst mankind. So I implore you to watch this video with a child that you care about that may be or become bullied so they can see from both perspectives the results of bullying
