Bit of News.

Jerry Sandusky is now a resident of SCI-Greene. He's being housed on the RHU block in Administrative Custody with the death row prisoners. I'm not on the same block, but I can imagine he'll get a very warm reception. many prisoners will grind him up for a good while because most prisoners don't like child molesters. That's one thing I can respect about prisoners. I've seen them come down real hard on a few. So he'll remain in protective custody for a very long time. He'll be subjected to the same restrictions I face every day - Lock down 24/7, 2hr yard/or library, non-contact visits + restricted movement.

Hubert Michael is about to be executed soon, maybe this week. I'm hearing that he has forgone his appeals and wants to die. He's not really talking to anyone, and he's waving off any help from the lawyers + the administration. He only asks to be left alone so he can accept his punishment. He doesn't appear suicidal, just pretty much resigned to his fate. I can understand where he's coming from. It seems he wants to be punished, or feels like he deserves the punishment. I can't really speak to what's on his mind. I can respect the fact that he wishes to take responsibility for his actions. Seems reasonable to me.

Annie Dookhan, a 34 yr old Boston, Massachusetts chemist, was arrested in a lab scandal for allegedly faking drug test results, forging paperwork and mixing samples at a State police lab that's caused thousands of criminal cases to be thrown into doubt. Her alleged mishandling of drug samples prompted the shutdown of Hamilton State Laboratory Institute, and resulted in the resignation of three officials, including the State's public health commissioner. State police say that she's tested more than 60,000 drug samples involving 34,000 defendants during her 9 yrs. at the lab. She's charged with obstruction of justice and pretending to hold a college degree. She's facing 20 years.
