For the Lost but Never Forgotten
Sandy Hook Elementary sojourners of innocence...

We are all from Allah
And to Allah we return
This earth is too full of empty sadness
Recess with angels holds greater lessons to be taught
So we are left behind
Soul wrenched by the vastness of hurt
For we have yet to lean aught
From one moment of silence to the next
Until the world has held sacred
That none shall trespass against its smallest sojourners of innocence
One by one solitary tear drops wept silently
Are the lasting echo of the solidarity of sorrow that remains
Grief brings our pain no sense of easement
Rest in peace, little ones
For you have claims to pieces of each and every one of our hearts
To rest with you always in loving memory
Too briefly were we granted the blessings
You were to our lives
Every moment its own adorable treasury
Locked away for safe keeping
Until the children are kept safe
And we have no need of these words guarded by rose petals
In a reliquary fortress.
