Brother, I remember how hard you tried to develop me into a "proper Marine"! Thank you! Never forget that you made positive impacts on more young souls than you can count,
may God bless you!

Hi William, I am happy to have found you since leaving the corps, but saddened by the place I have found you in. I live in Iowa now which is quite close to Illinois and would love to visit some time. I do not know the process for visiting but I will find out, and hope that you would let me know when will be a good time.

I treasure the time we had in the corp and learned much from you. I only hope we can continue to connect outside the corp. Hope to hear from you soon.

Dave,

I have left another message on another one of your blogs so you may have to search for it. As you can see, you have left a positive impression on many of those you served with.

I am sure if we did a survey of other people you were with it would come back the same, Damn Great Marine and Friend. You have the Marine Brotherhood here to support you, no questions asked, no explanation needed. Our Blood runs green, through and through.

I read also another Blog where you posted "Another Day In Paradise", and it was quiet good. I would encourage you to continue your writing as it could be a best seller.

When you get a chance to post again, let me know anything you may need, want or wish you had. I will see what I can do. Dave as many have said, you are not alone and as Marines we do not leave anyone behind. You are in all of our thoughts and Prayers. I will write you privately so we can share more.

I served with you at 2Bn 8Marines and during 89 Med Cruz. I am so sorry to hear what you had to go through and will go through over the years. You were always a man of great compassion for his troops and ensure there welfare came first. I wish we would have kept in touch or been there for you in your time of need. If there is anything I can do, do not hesitate to ask.
Copied and pasted from Brent but I feel the same way as he does. You may of remembered me as Lcpl Palmer. My prayers are with you and hang in there I think you may of even told me that a few times.I hope things do work out the best for you and for better or worse Marines will always be with you.

Some staff! The head nurse practitioner was really playing word games with you. But I don't think she was totally at fault, you did say you didn't want the medication when she asked you, which is like saying you don't need it because you're not sick. But then again, I don't quite understand your ranking system, could you explain it?

Sounds like you didn't like your childhood, or that you wanted it to be over. You wanted to leave your Grandma the first chance you got, but when she needed help later in life, you were there to help her. Perhaps as repayment?

I hear you brother. I've been ther myself. I was one of the lucky ones and did not get caught. Been seven years since I touched anything and I still think about it. Stay brave and strong.

Over 30 of us from 2/8 are kindling the Marine Brother hood on Facebook and there are many warm comments about helping right the wrong of Sr. Enlisted mental games, I am sure you remember.

Dave you will be in my prayers and my thoughts daily as you were and still are a Marine and one of my Brothers who will not be left behind. As this is public, I have your address and will write a more personal letter to you. I will try to include some of the comment but don't know if they will make through the screening of mail.

Just look at this as a long Med Cruz w/o Liberty (or water or a boat...LOL) and one day the Ship will pull back in for you.

I will remain a friend and brother to you

Hey Sgt Linley this is Scott Gerkens, you may remember me as Lcpl Gerkens. We served together at 2/8. All the guys have started a group on facebook and we heard about your situation so I thought I would let you know we are all praying for you and hope you are well. You are a fine Marine and I was proud to have served with you.I hope you can see these posts and know we are behind you. You seem to be in good spirits considering your position. Just keep your head up and be proud of what you have done for this Country. Semper Fidelis.

Sgt. Linley,

Jeff and Ron summed up my thoughts as well or better than I could express them myself. I want you to know that we are all thinking about you.

In my opinion, you should not have been imprisoned. We know you have a good heart and a man with solid character. Let us know what we can do to help you during this trying time.

We really care about you. You are one of us.

Semper Fi,

L/cpl Bill Franklin
