It's the USA Black Friday as I write this and I wanted to wish/hope your Thanksgiving weekend is good for you! I hope they feed you something special!!
I still await a response from my last letters/responses, so will wait until I've heard from you before I write a lengthy letter again. Thinking of you.
My love... It’s thanksgiving evening - been at Ambers since noon - nearly 10 now - couldn’t let the day end without telling you I love you.... Black Friday tomorrow and <shudder> I have to leave the house. Just going to the grocery store - thank God we live rural and the closest town is small so there shouldn’t be too many folks in the store and the streets. Tomorrow night we draw names for gifts - so much better than buying for everyone - we each have one person - spend around $100 - and that’s all. Makes for better gifts and far less stress :). Of course the 3 littlest don’t count - they get presents from all of us - though we do pool with one another to get the more expensive gifts. What I’m thankful for is you - your love - knowing that you’re always there for me...I love you... Good night sweetheart.
I'd like to read the whole book as I have a personal interest in this true story which affected my life in the worst way and led me down a path of self destruction and prison. See, my name is Michael Owen's Jr, and my mother Susan Owenswas the woman he was charged with murdering that night on Dec 22nd 1994. I was only 11 when it happened and now at 35 I still have only heard bits and pieces of what happened or stories with peoples own personal spin on it. I'd like a chance to here his story.

I really like this! The way she's framed is really nice, how she become the top and left border for the artwork. It reminds me a little bit of Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss" in the way that she is in a rectangular space.
I used to feel a little hopeless about this kind of thinking; I mean, being a defeatist and thinking that people wouldn't be able to understand or even care about people in the basic necessity sense. A lot of people seem more concerned with "hearts and minds", whatever that means, than providing physical resources for people. I think empathy should be taught, taught because we as people can't ever lose sight of what matters on the day-to-day, week-to-week priorities of the underprivileged. it's something i forget myself sometimes.
I'm trying to find a buddy from 1993 who I just found out was put in jail and released in 2011. His name is Shawn Queen and his CDCR is V25667. I called his brother and he was not helpful. He simply kept repeating that Shawn is a terrible person and has been in jail for 20 years. I don't believe that. He was born in 1966 and apparently released in 2011.
