The fact is that the (2) murders you were convicted of were males. That does not make your crimes any less horrific. Each of your victims left behind MORE victims (family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, communities, etc).
What should we do with convicted murderers? Already the appellate process affords (guarantees) 10-20 yrs (or more) of life while cases wind through the courts.
I don't know the solution. LWOP (the other death penalty) - is that realistic? I worry that Social Security will be broke when I finally qualify to draw after paying into the system for years and years. ObamaCare mandates are pinching some of us working poor who are working and living paycheck to paycheck - trying to keep a roof over our heads.
The cost to house Lifers and Death Row inmates is coming out of my pocket.
Let me ask you, Mr Clark, to convince me why (for instance) I should rally behind any movement that would take you off death row and agree to support you for your natural life?
Maybe in a perfect world there would be some magical island we could ship you all to and throw away the key - but we can't. The reality is that the death penalty in the state where you committed your crimes existed and continues to exist because the taxpayers voted for it.

Your claim that Hatch shot Mr. Willis is not supported by the record and you were convicted of the murder. You, like Happ, have been denying it for 24 years. Hatch did not reject his plea deal and served his time.
You also seem to forget your other robbery and murder of Charles Carter. And what is it with you and taking your victims boots? And you talk about fair and justice? You have had years of due process.

William Happ smashed Angela Crowleys car window and kidnapped her. He beat her, raped her and strangled her with her pants before throwing her body into a canal. That was not an act that took a moment. Do you think Happ sat down and thought "Damn that was stupid, what did I do that for?" Was that an appropriate response?
He denied committing rape, murder and disposing of her body like garbage for 24 years. Her family and friends will no longer have to go through endless appeals and denials of responsibility, reliving that brutal act each time. Something has been accomplished.
