Thanks for writing. I think it's short-sighted that prisoners can't be provided with better IT training, especially as many will face updated technologies when they leave prison. Obviously there are security concerns etc but it shouldn't be difficult to offer better resources with adequate restrictions. This could really make a difference in gaining employment once released.
I'm afraid I don't know much about Excel myself, but I have googled the Formula book for you. It seems that it's a reference guide for how to create any formula you would want in Excel. An Amazon reviewer has explained in detail what its comprised of:
"1 - Basic Information This covers a basic description of Excel, facts about formulas, and using named ranges. Complete beginners may not find this enough - I'd suggest Walkenbach's excellent Excel Bible for them.
2 - Using Functions in your Formulas Takes you through text manipulation, dealing with times and dates, counting and summing, lookups, databases and lists, and various other calculations - the 40 pages on dates and time alone are worth their weight in gold! Excellent stuff.
3 - Financial Formulas Definitely not for the faint of heart - takes you through the usage of all the financial formulas that Excel has to offer.
4 - Array Formulas A short part covering the capabilities of array formulas - far more useful than the coverage that array formulas received in the previous book I had read.
5 - Miscellaneous Formula Techniques An excellent reference section where you can gain some great tips and techniques. Covers intentional circular references, charting techniques, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, the creation of 'megaformulas', and various debugging methods when things go wrong."
The book has lots of good ratings. I hope this is helpful in some way!
Maybe there is a letter from you in my mailbox... maybe not? I hope so! I gave a long answer on yours, did you get it?
How is your study? Do you stick with it? If you have bright discoveries I should know about, tell me, ok?. We can always discuss certain areas of course.
I am still grieving, because George wasn't released. I've no idea why? He only had two votes and needs 7 on 13 judges. I am still confused in a way. Nevertheless I will travel to the States; to visit my daughter and next visit George. Summer in California and winter in Illinois.
This time my suitcase will be heavier for the winter clothing! I leave on the 29th of November and will be in America till the 10th of January. We thus can celebrate Christmas and the New Year together!
No Italian course today, while our volunteer teacher (he teaches French as well) is on a trip to Norway with his wife.
Bob, how is your son doing? Did he decide what to do with his future?
I've to go; my computer is in repair and I'm in a library right now.
Hope you read this fairly soon and have a big hug from Rita!
Thanks for your story. It reminded me of the first concert I went to. The Indigo Girls were playing in a park in Portland, Oregon and my dad decided to take me. My dad loved that band, but he loved saving a buck even more. So, my father brought two chairs and we stood on them and peeked over the fence. Of course, I'm only five foot two, so I really couldn't see anything! Eventually, a fellow who was working concessions took pity on us and gave us some pizza -- then vendor's passes. My dad and I saw the last two songs from inside the actual concert. My father kept that vendor's pass in his office for years.
Thanks for making me think about such a nice memory. I love your stories. -- Joy
what's up?!Here I do have some time on another computer. Did you get my second letter, Kelly? Well, i will number them, so you know if a lettere is lost. I could read very clearly your writing; I hope mine was the same? :-)
Your photo is here to see every day. My ex thougt you had something Indian in your features... and no arms.. haha... Well, you hide them so very good behind your back. Chucle.
Kelly, I've not that good news... George wasn't released. He only had 2 votes(judges are men and women)and he needs minimum 7 votes on 13 judges. I wrote a not too nice letter to his lawyer.
I heard they read my letter in the beginnnig of the paroling. Next letter will be harder, but ALSO thanking those 2 people who showed mercy and empathy.
Do they have sons? Is it all about vengeance? Can there be forgiving? Won't they have one day regrets for not perdoning a person that long in jail and able to be released in society? They have the "responsability" in their hands to give a man his liberty. Can they live with their conciousness, denying one's further life, while they have theirs? Can't they grant a couple to be having a part of their life and to be happy together?
Well, all subjects I will aboard next time. He has next year a new PB. But what's the gain, if most are the same judges!? His dad of 90 thinks he'll never will be free...:-( He'd like to die, only when he's out.
I read you have to go in the hole.... Why is that, Kelly? What is different then? Can you still write letters?
Tell me Kelly, is there a long time between our writings on your blog and you receiving it? How much later is that in time?
I will visit my daughter in California and next George, in Illinois. I am leaving on the 29th of November and will stay at Leslie's till the 19th of December. The 20th of December I'll fly to Chicago and am one day in an hotel there. Then the next day I am taking the Amtrak (train) and ride to Galesburg. I will visit him 6 days in December and 6 days in January. I can celebrate the holidays in America!!!
On the 10th of the new year I fly home.
Take very well care of yourself Kelly, help yourself and others!
